The content of the Physical Education subject is very important but the same is true of how it is taught. The way the Physical Education subject is taught is essential because it determines the abilities and skills that students will acquire. This is the reason why different teaching styles in Physical Education have been developed, which evolving more and more, reflect different ways of teaching and different degree of participation of teacher and student.In this context, alternative forms of teaching Physical Education have been developed with the aim of comprehensive development of students. Some of these forms were conducted with a focus on various art forms and this is the subject of the present study which captures the research efforts that exist in this field and their findings. Given that the purpose of Physical Education is the harmonious development of student's personality both in the psychomotor and in the social and cognitive field, in the present work an attempt is made to record and evaluate the results of the use of arts in the subject of Physical Education.

Sou professor de Educação Física e terminei os meus estudos no Departamento de Educação Física e Ciência do Desporto na Universidade Aristóteles de Salónica, Grécia. Tenho um mestrado e um doutoramento pela Universidade de Ioannina, Grécia. Tenho muitos anos de experiência de trabalho como professor em escolas primárias e secundárias.
