The present work aimed to evaluate the production of lettuce grown in aquaponic and hydroponic systems with different types of substrates. The experiment was conducted using a randomised block design, with two treatments corresponding to the production systems and three treatments corresponding to the cultivation substrates. The substrates used were: coconut husk fibre (CF), expanded vermiculite (VE), and phenolic foam (EF). The cultivation systems used were: hydroponic system and aquaponic system The experiment was conducted in two crop cycles. The crop used was lettuce cv. Alcione of the curly type. After harvesting the plants, the crop yield, plant height and fresh mass of the aerial part were analysed. In addition, foliar analyses of the plants were performed. The averages of the results were submitted to the Tukey test (p<0.05).
