Search for clues alongside Madge and Paul Franklin, as the retired couple embark on their third travel/mystery adventure. This time, the two seniors are going undercover in Alaska at the soon-to-open Arctic Adventure Lodge. Join them as they work with Madge's "boys" to solve several murders, as well as uncover the nefarious motives of two large corporations. Become entranced along with Madge and Paul on their flight over the arctic tundra, discovering the beauty and wonder of this special and unique part of the planet. Their new friend, ecological researcher Nona Richards, explains the importance of protecting the arctic from the intrusion of development, even as murders need to be solved. (About the Author) Much like the characters in her Madge Franklin series, author Kate McLaughlin and her husband of sixty years spent sixteen years on the road as full-time RVers. "During our years of travel, we worked with the National Park Service and U.S. Fish and Wildlife, as well as with an organization that allowed us to go around the country doing service projects and disaster rebuilds. Much of what I write is based on personal experience." Although she settled in New Mexico, "My love for Alaska, my passion for the arctic, and my distress at how irresponsible we have been in caring for our only home, Earth, inspired this book."
Autorenporträt
"My husband and I are retired and live on a retirement style income. We live full-time in an RV and travel all over the country. When not visiting the kids, we work as volunteers with the National Park Service and U.S. Fish and Wildlife. We also do service projects and disaster rebuilds with NOMADS, which is a branch of the United Methodist Church." About her writing, she says, "I had recently turned 70 and thought if Grandma Moses could start that late in life, so could I."
