Autorenporträt
Several years ago, The Nature Museum of the Chicago Academy of Sciences had a wonderful exhibit explaining the feats of insects and arachnids in relation to human endeavors. I spent several hours there gathering facts...things I didn't know. In order for children to better understand this relationship, I have written the story, "Are Your Ears On Your Knees?" featuring a grasshopper and a cricket, and their discussions with other insects and a spider about how each is different, and therefore special. After teaching kindergarten for thirty years, and now retired, I feel youngsters understand math and science concepts more if they're related to children's experiences. I live in a suburb of Chicago, Illinois, with my dog, Brillo. I have a daughter, a son in-law, and two wonderful granddaughters.
