There have been demonstrations of rejection by the Chilean Foreign Ministry, some academics and digital media that place Argentina in the place of the expansionist Other. There is a brief overview of the history of the border delimitation between Argentina and Chile and how the problematic issues have been resolved until reaching the current controversy. The examination from the perspective of communication introduces the reader to the influence of social networks in international relations, the relationship between governments and peoples and the construction of media and political agendas and the configuration of national identities and regional constructions. It also dealswith regional issues from the perspective of citizen diplomacy as a tool.
