During the indecisive first nine months of WWII, often referred to as the Phoney War, a young sergeant fighter pilot and the daughter of an English noble family defy the acceptable classism and norms of their time resulting in tragedy and suffering, but ultimately contributed to more liberal post-WWII societal standards.
