Autorenporträt
I was born and raised in San Diego and grew up helping my parents in their large organic garden. Fortunately, because of our wonderful Southern California climate, we were able to grow fruits and vegetables year round. I had lots of pets and different hobbies, but the "seed" was definitely planted in my mind about the benefits and pleasures of gardening. Little did I know that 80 years later it would still hold the same fascination. After high school and dental school at USC, I worked on patients at the Army Language School and Navy Postgraduate School in the Monterey area for two years. I then returned to San Diego and worked with my father, also a USC dentist, for many years. During this time I married my high school sweetheart and raised four children in the house we built on the same block as my parents. My father would often come over and give me advice and show our children his "how to" knowledge from 51 years of gardening. My book about gardening for 80 years features how growing your own fruits and vegetables can be both productive and fun.
