This cookbook is different to most. Whilst some of the dishes will be familiar to you, many will not. Wherever possible, I sought to bring something different to these pages. The other way in which this book differs is that I am not a professional chef, but an aircraft engineer and author. In 1873, Phileas Fogg wagered twenty-thousand pounds that he could circumnavigate the world in just eighty days. Of course, Phileas Fogg was a fictitious character created by the French author, Jules Verne, but our journey is real. Inspired by the book, Around the World in Eighty Days, I sought out stunning starters, mighty main courses and delightful desserts from all over the globe. Maybe you think some of these dishes will be beyond your abilities, I think not. I prepared, cooked and photographed every dish in this book. There are no glossy, unattainable results here. So, if you can follow instructions, you are capable of making every one of these recipes and you too can go on a culinary journey, Around the World in Eighty Dishes.

Autorenporträt
Glen R. Stansfield is a qualified aircraft engineer, a profession he has pursued for over forty years. A lifelong interest in crime, in particular forensic psychology, led him to write his debut novel, Fishing for Stones. When not writing, he can sometimes be found on two wheels, often using his motorcycle to raise money for charity. His work has taken him to Bahrain, where he lives with his wife, Jess.
