To prepare children for preschool we must implement systems that go beyond academics. If our goal is to ensure a positive mental, physical, and academic trajectory for our children; then we must adopt a systems approach that addresses the whole child. Teaching teachers how to implement the 360 Cultural Leadership (360CL) system, will help combat the challenges preschool teachers face with implementing a preschool curriculum. 360CL addresses proactive strategies designed to help stop the preschool-to-prison pipeline that still persists. Researchers confirm that preschooler's social and emotional competence directly predicts present and future social-emotional and academic success. The language and actions of zero tolerance policies causes three and four year old children to be suspended and expelled from preschool. African American children are negatively impacted in stark contrast to their peers. Teachers are presented with a week-to-week focus that addresses one aspect of the whole child; the first cycle has eight weeks and the cycle is repeat two additional times. Arresting preschoolers is not the answer; teaching preschool teachers how to teach leadership is more constructive, fun and benefits the whole child.
