Arsenic contamination is a worldwide problem from drinking arsenic contaminated water and food in endemic areas and non endemic areas as well because of market availability of the contaminated food stuffs.The book intend to clarify the presence of arsenic in irrigated ground and soil and its bioaccumulation in rice and other vegetables specially in the endemic areas of West Bengal, India. The soil and water chemical consequences has been highlighted here, for which arsenic becomes available for the crop plants.
