Autorenporträt
While working as an administrator at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston in the 1980s, Lindsay Carlisle became intrigued with the history of the school and its students. During her studies for a Master of Liberal Arts at Harvard University's Extension School, she chose a thesis topic that combined her interests in history and the visual arts. The research for her thesis, titled "Educational Opportunities for Women at Boston Art Schools: 1873-1910," led to the ideas for "Art School Girls." Now semi-retired, Lindsay lives in Concord, Massachusetts, and enjoys spending time in her native Maine.
