Art Tyson was born in New Haven, Connecticut in 1939, one of eleven children. Art is the first African-American to be inducted into the National Horsheshoes Pitchers Association Hall Of Fame, which was in 1993. He won 14 Championship in horseshoes, 13 in New York and one in Connecticut. He came in second place in the world three times, in 1991, 1996 and 1999.
