Artificial neural networks are one of the topics of artificial intelligence. These networks are a data processing system that takes ideas from the human brain and entrusts data processing to many processors that act in a network connected and parallel to each other to solve a problem. Artificial neural networks are used in forecasting and modeling complex construction management problems with neuron models and diverse network architectures. Neural networks, both in the aspect of structural analysis and development and in the aspect of hardware implementation, are growing and improving in terms of quantity, quality and ability, and various techniques of neural computing are still increasing. In this section, the meaning of neural networks, the limits of expectations from these networks and their similarities with real networks are discussed. Research and interest in neural networks started when the brain was recognized as a dynamic system with a parallel structure and processing that is completely different from conventional processors. The new attitude about the function of the brain was the result of the thoughts that were formed in the early 20th century by Ramon Segal.
