Most of us are fortunate to have incomparable countryside on our very doorsteps. The result of nature and human activity with enviable historical associations. We need the iconic landscapes but the local offering is there to satisfy our immediate needs. Yet so few of us are aware of what is just around the corner. The author urges the reader to venture forth, not to leave it for another time - every season is special. Enjoy the legacy of those campaigners who had the vision to save the countryside for this and future generations.
