This book focuses on four high quality plant species used to control certain protozoan and helminth infections in the Domestic fowl in particular, as well as other farm animals. Humans and animals consume the plants due to their nutritional and medicinal values. In recent years there has been emphasis on the control of parasitic infections using drugs that are less toxic to the consumer. The need for better alternative agent with less adverse manifestations, in addition to the dwindling potency of the existing anti parasitic drugs due to resistance of these parasites to known contemporary drugs and chemicals especially synthetic ones, necessitated this work. The plants used have been scientifically proven to have considerable adverse/cidal effects on gastrointestinal parasites of domestic fowls. They qualify for consideration amongst alternative agents being sought to replace the synthetic drugs used against coccidiosis and helminthiasis in domestic fowls, whose potency are dwindling. Their preparation and administration have been demonstrated with simple methods. They cause ova viability inhibition., etc. Included are clear and recent photographs and figures for better understanding.
