The Chilean salmon industry is one of the few successful cases of industrial policies developed by Chile. Its brief historical process has motivated many academics to investigate the reasons for its success, but also for its failures. In practice, there is no single way of structuring a productive activity. In this book, the author delves into aspects related to the way in which the industry was organized from its beginnings to the most recent times, concentrating on the phenomenon of vertical integration as an explanatory factor of its behavior over time.
