The objective of this textbook is to shed light on the prominent role of academic leadership positions in public higher education institutions of Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) of Iraq. We all know that these institutions are the most prominent instruments devoted for mankind development and prosperity. Academic strategic leaderships are considered the most precious human capital that actuate mankind into developed societies through the discovery, preservation, dissemination and application of scientific knowledge. Evidently, such leaders must be highly qualified and trained to achieve this kind of human transformation. Hence, this textbook shall explain and discuss the history, types, and dimensions of these strategic leadership competencies that must be possessed by each leader; before investigating their effectiveness on the overall perceived academic staff performance.
