The present investigation was conducted on the problem entitled "Genetic variability and yield components in tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.)". In present study, phenotypic coefficient of variability was found greater than genotypic coefficient of variability in all the characters of tomato varieties/cultures. The highest coefficient of variability was found for fruit volume followed by weight of fruit, number of fruits per plant, yield of fruits per plant, width of fruit, length of fruit, number of branches per plant, number of leaves per plant and height of plant both at genotypic and phenotypic levels. Genetic advance in per cent of mean was found maximum for volume of fruit, followed by weight of fruit, of number fruits per plant, yield of fruits per plant, width of fruit and number of branches per plant. Correlation coefficient was estimated separately at genotypic environmental and phenotypic levels during both the years
