The study investigated the effect of periwinkle gathering and marketing on women well-being in Ogbia Local Government Area, Bayelsa State. Five (5) research questions and two (2) hypotheses guided the study. Descriptive research design was applied for the study. The objectives of the study were to describe the socio-economic characteristics of the respondents in the study area; identify areas of periwinkle gathering and marketing;examine the socio-economic effect of periwinkle gathering and marketing on women; determine the effect of periwinkle gathering and marketing on women wellbeing; and identify the constraints faced by women in periwinkle gathering and marketing in the study area.The study recommended that, women who are not gainfully employed should identify one of the areas of periwinkle gathering and marketing to cushion the effect of unemployment in order to meet up economic demands. Also, Government should also make the areas where periwinkles are being gathered to be easily accessible and build market places where they can be easily marketed. Government should as well look into the challenges faced by women in periwinkle gathering and marketing in the study area.
