The study revealed that the nefarious activities perpetrated within the cyber realm are prevalent as 86% of the respondents affirm to it in Nigeria, and as a result, the country sit 3rd in the world ranking. This book also reveals that majority with 63% believed that the menace has dented the image of this country and as a result, pose a threat to the national development of this country. Therefore, this study concluded that cybercrime is a virus which has eaten deep into the socio-economic development of this country and as such distort the sustainable livelihood and national development of Nigerians. The study thereby recommends that government should create more jobs in order to discourage the perpetration of this nefarious crime. Also, there should be strict punishment to discourage perpetrators from engaging in such crime.
