During the past decade, the understanding that traffic noise is an increasingly serious risk has gained ever wider recognition. During the past decade, the understanding that traffic noise is an increasingly serious risk has gained ever wider recognition. Noise is a very complex phenomenon in its physical aspect, as well as in its psychological and medical dimensions. In consequence, it is practically indispensable to measure, predict, or describe noise in a simplified way. For assessment of road traffic noise, the sampling, computation, modelling, analysis and interpretation tools were selected to give most realistic results. The study identified the areas of heavy noise environment due to road traffic movement and the risk zones. The large-scale assessment of the noise and eventually the noise maps under a spatial-temporal aspect in sufficient detail will be useful in serving as a strategic planning and noise reduction tool and as an aid for decision making on environmental noise matters. The study, its technique, database and outputs and outcomes will be helpful for the town administrator and planners for the effective noise control actions.
