Major Depressive disorder is a mental illness that affects approximately 121 million people in the world. Currently, Physical activity measures are used to reduce symptoms of depression. In this cross-sectional study, secondary data from NHANES 2007-2008 is analyzed to determine the association between physical activity and depression. The results show that there is no significant association between physical activity levels and depression.

She received the B.S. degree in Biological Science from Georgia State University, Atlanta, GA, in 2008 and obtained an MPH degree in Prevention Science from Georgia State University, Atlanta, GA in 2013. Ugonma Emeruem was inducted into the Golden Key International Honor Society Award in 2011.
