Mark E. Becker enjoys crafting novels about a part of American politics where few authors have gone before. He writes political thrillers about a guy named Max who isn't a politician. Mark E. Becker enjoys crafting novels about a part of American politics where few authors have gone before. He writes political thrillers about a guy named Max who isn't a politician. " He just happens to be running for president. He doesn't make speeches unless he absolutely must, and he isn't a member of any political party. He's just like the rest of us." Naturally, Max's renegade attitude toward politics runs him afowl of the political establishment, and they are unprepared for a candidate who runs his campaign on his own terms. Max anchors his campaign based on the Maxims, the rules laid down by his father, and they are the commandments for running an ethical and successful political campaign. Max Masterson is not a conservative or a liberal. He avoids fund-raisers and press conferences, and you could characterize his relationship with mainstream media as, well, adversarial. He delivers his message to America in short soundbytes that can't be clipped, manipulated or parsed. He can be described as America's first renegade patriot since the revolution. Career politicians can't control him, and are determined to make him suffer for his renegade ways. This page-turner will leave you wondering, "Why can't we have a man like Max Masterson running for president?" and asking for more. The second novel in the series, No Corner to Hide, picks up where At Risk of Winning leaves off, dealing with problems that confront America, if only we could get polarizing politics out of the way of the solution. Max's problem is that the Washington establishment wants to kill him, the press usually can't find him, and the voters are craving for more. On the Election Day after next, cast your vote for Max Masterson...if he survives the campaign.
Autorenporträt
Mark E. Becker is a lawyer, certified mediator, political mediator and author. Mark was one of the first certified mediators in the state of Florida and has successfully help resolve more than 5,000 cases. Mark consulted with politicians on high profile issues, worked in the same Florida courthouse that determined the 2000 presidential election, had his shoes shined with Vice-President Joe Biden, accidently stepped on Jesse Jackson's shoes, and has shared more than one elevator with our nation's leaders. In fact, he borrowed the title for his first political thriller, "At Risk of Winning," from Ron Paul's wife. Mark is not a member of any political party, and you will never see any reference to party politics in his books, during mediation, or while he commentates. Mark believes that, as with any dispute with two contentious parties, the Democrats and Republicans could benefit greatly from solution-oriented mediation.
