Autorenporträt
Andreas Birken (Dr. phil, Tubingen 1970) studied music, political sciences and Islamic studies, and is a former member of the "Tubinger Atlas des Vorderen Oriens "(TAVO). He is the author of "Die Provinzen des Osmanischen Reiches "(Wiesbaden 1976) and "Die Wirtschaftsbeziehungen zwischen Europa und dem Vorderen Orient im ausgehenden 19. Jahrhundert "(Wiesbaden 1980). Later he worked for several years as an editor and manager of an info-graphics department which is now part of the German Press Agency. Over the past years he has privately published several atlases on the Near and Middle East."
