This book was conducted in order to find out the attitude on oral hygiene among the school going children from September to December 2011 with sample of 1200 among selected schools in Dhaka city of Bangladesh using a pre-tested semi structured interviewer administrated questionnaire. The study showed that most of the respondents are in Class IV-IX (aged 10-15 years old) with the mean age of 12 years. This study revealed that 92.5% of respondents think it is important to take care of oral cavity. 76.7% of respondents agreed that regular brushing prevents tooth decay. 69.2% respondents brush their teeth regularly and 69.2% brushed once a day, 27.5% brushed twice daily and only 3.3% brushed more than twice a day. 92.5% used toothbrush and 83.3% used tooth paste for brushing the teeth. 67.5% respondents knew that sweet food caused harm to tooth and 50% thought soft drinks have the same effects on teeth. 69.2% of respondents reports they went to dentist on requirement basis and only 8.3% of respondents regularly went to dentist for checkup.
