Traffic accidents have been recognized as one of the major causes for human, economic and social losses both in developed and developing countries. Libya has a serious road accidents problem with around 3606 death reported annually. Attitudes and behaviour of drivers are regarded as the most significant contributory factor in road traffic accidents (RTA) in Libya. The aim of this research is to explore the antecedents and consequences of car driver behaviour towards RTA involvement in Tripoli, Libya. The findings support the hypothesised relationships proposed in the theoretical model with satisfactorily acceptable results. The developed model suggests some correlations to complement factors as ¿knowledge, training, road condition, weather, road pavement, road alignment, traffic control and traffic zone work¿ together to influence car driver attitude towards RTA involvement. Consequently, the influence affects increase in road safety and reduces road traffic accidents, through interaction of these factors which could be considered as a new dimension.
