A resident of Maplewood, New Jersey for nearly 22 years, Winifred enjoys writing poetry at her leisure. She is a retired Newark Resource Teacher who also enjoys tutoring young students at two elementary schools in her community. Winifred belongs to four auxiliaries in her church where she has been a member since childhood. The four auxiliaries are the Ladies' Guild , The Heard AME Lay Organization, The Adult Church School and the Senior Fellowship. She also is editor of the church newsletter, the Heard Herald which she publishes each month in memory of her dearly departed cousin Joanette H. Keyes. She is currently President of the Martin Luther King Jr. Civic Club an affiliate of the NJ State Federation of Colored Women's Clubs, Inc. & Youth Clubs (the oldest African American female organization in the country). She was just recently elected Corresponding Secretary for the NJSFCWC. Winifred likes to read and travel and spend quality time with family and friends.
