Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) are developmental disorders that affect individuals at different levels - behavioral, linguistic and social - and in different magnitudes (APA, 2013). Given the exponential increase in diagnoses (APA, 2013), it is essential to in(train) and raise awareness among the general population and specifically among those who are directly or indirectly related to these individuals. The aim is to give an account of the many aspects surrounding the concept of autism, with this book attempting to act as an informative/training/educational module for parents, educators and the general population. It can also be used to integrate assessment/intervention programs for this population. The module presented is made up of five (5) headings, which can be worked on, presented according to needs and priorities, as you see fit. We have, then, Heading I, Conceptualization(s) Heading II, Causes Heading III, Diagnosis and Assessment Heading IV, Interventions and Heading V, Social Resources It will basically be all about autism, its spectrum, in a schematic but developed and up-to-date way.
