Avulsion is loss of tooth from the socket due to any traumatic injury. Losing a tooth can be physically and emotionally traumatic to the patient. It is necessary to know the early management and storage protocol and precautions to be taken after avulsive traumatic injuries. Every dentist must be well prepared to meet these emergencies. It is incumbent upon the dentist to preserve the vitality of injured teeth whenever possible and to restore them skillfully to their original appearance, without producing additional trauma (or) endangering the integrity of the teeth. This review proposes to brief up the protocols in the endodontic management of avulsion of permanent teeth and simultaneously highlights the advances in the materials and methods pertaining to dental avulsion management.
