It was about 3 AM, and Ted Orenstein had spent many continuous hours studying for the bar exam in a bare, cold room. It was then that his life changed. He had a spiritual awakening: a revelation. He became elated and calm at the same time. He was amazed and filled with quiet contemplation. He could not fully explain it, because it was not explainable in words.Soon thereafter by chance he met his first spiritual teacher. A group of people regularly gathered around that teacher, and informal sessions were held in his living room almost every night. The discussions were very deep. They were discussions about spirituality, about life, about meaning, about understanding. Ted had never before been in such an environment. He had many questions. He learned so much.Progressively enlightening spiritual awakenings came to him in the two years following that first revelatory experience. Ted eventually reached the state which some have called enlightenment. When he was within that experience, he understood everything. All was crystal clear to him. At some point Ted began taking notes of his revelations and his resulting inspired thoughts. Eventually his notes began to take the shape of his book Awaken Your Soul, A Self-help Guide whose purpose it is to help others find the spiritual enlightenment he has found. In that book he has translated eternal concepts into the language of the present and has created a guide to spiritual awakening which the everyday person can use.
