Also the fish diseases prevalent in Wular lake (Asia s largest freshwater lake) was completely unexplored till the present research was carried out. The results of the work can be practically applied in farms for prevention of the outbreak of the disease in coldwater areas.

Dr. Salman Rauoof Chalkoo (Ph.D., M.F.Sc., NET., FICER, PGDIF (CIFE)) is working in the State Fisheries Department of Jammu & Kashmir. He has immense contribution in the field of fish pathology and nutrition and has 37 publications to his credit in the journals of National and International repute.
