Autorenporträt
Honestly, Liz just got sick of reading cliche romance novels where the bad boy magically transforms into the perfect gentleman with a heart of gold, where sex scenes are fireworks after two minutes with a stranger. That didn't fit Liz's personal experiences. In fact, in her dating life, Liz often found herself chasing men that were emotionally unavailable, which led to insecure "situationships", heart vs. mind conflicts, and wasting away after men who she felt didn't really care for her. When she saw many of her girlfriends getting caught up in the same self-destructive cycles, Liz asked herself: Why do we keep doing this to ourselves? There must be a reason. And so she began to write, to explore her pain, to heal her soul. The story in her books is what she discovered. Liz grew up in Toronto and studied in a highly-acclaimed creative writing program, in which she learned zero creative writing; however, during her undergrad she became a bull-shitting professional and picked up a strong basis for Spanish and salsa dancing, which were integral to both her personal and professional lives. After all, dance socials were where she met most of those charming, emotionally unavailable men featured in her books. And, she ended up falling in love with Spain, her grandmother's homeland, which added a few plot twists to her story.
