Baggs is a curious black cat who yearns to venture outside his apartment. He loves all kinds of toys, especially balls. So, when a ball catches his eye outside, he just could not resist. He wanted that ball, and he would do anything to get it. And so, he decides to go after it. What happens next? Join him on his adventure!
Janet is a Filipino American who has spent more than half her life as part of the US Navy, growing up as a Navy "brat," her own commission as a Naval Officer, and also as a military spouse to a submariner. Writing a children's book had always been on her "bucket list" since college. It was in San Diego, California that Janet became friends with another military spouse, Katia L. The two met at the Point Loma submarine pier as they watched their husbands embark on their first deployment. She and Katia became fast friends, with Janet also meeting Katia's cats, Bags (short for Bagheera) and Willow. At some point, Bags jumped from Katia's apartment balcony and ran away. No one expected he would return; but he did. That was when Kaita suggested, "The Adventures of Bags" book idea. Thirty plus years later, Janet finally wrote the book during a 14-month break from Corporate America. She had always found writing to be a stress-relieving outlet and this became a part of her "ME" journey to healthy: mentally and physically. The story itself is fiction as no one except Bags would have known of his adventures. As it is written, it is the first book of Bags' adventure filled with fun and friendship and the hope that he will return home to his sister, Willow. Janet's oldest, Tim, is the illustrator, making this book a special project filled with love and remembrance. While Katia is no longer able to enjoy the book, the book is dedicated in her memory.
