This book 'Balancing the Fundamental Objectives and Directive Principles of State Policy and Justiciable Rights in the Constitution of Nigeria' took a general look at the concept of rights as provided in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (hereinafter CFRN). It is of trite knowledge that rights in the CFRN are sub-divided based on their enforceability. Chapter II which provides the social and economic rights (second generation rights) is not Justiciable as provided in Section 6(6) (c)CFRN on the other hand Chapter IV which also deals with civil political rights (first generation rights) are Justiciable and enforceable in court. The foregoing classifications of rights have however sparked legal reactions and litigations, this book considered the attitude of the Nigerian courts and Courts of other common law jurisdictions similar to the Nigerian situation (third world countries). The doctrinal methodology was adopted. Both primary and secondary sources were employed in this book.
