Autorenporträt

Fran Manushkin is the author of many books for young readers, among them the Katie Woo series and the Pedro series; Baby, Come Out!; Happy in Our Skin; The Tushy Book; Big Girl Panties; and Big Boy Underpants. Born and raised in Chicago, Fran lives in New York City, where she enjoys reading, book collecting, bird watching, cat watching, and going to the movies and theatre. Purificación Hernández has been drawing since she was a young child. She attended the University of Barcelona, Spain, and received a degree in fine arts, specializing in engraving. But she returned to illustration, drawing for advertising, newspapers, magazines and, of course, children's books. Today she still makes her home in Barcelona.
