After the adoption of the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (informally known as the Ruggie Framework to protect, respect, and remedy), businesses worldwide are expected to respect Human Rights. A group of independent researchers that analysed the particular position of the banks, found that banks are now increasingly requested by the global community to avoid supporting Human Rights violations. This book hosts a multidisciplinary set of studies that evaluate different drivers that could lead international banks to Human Rights compliance.
