""There are liberties taken in rendering Albanian poetic nuance into English idiom; Ariadne's thread is often hard to follow. But poetry is there to show us a different dimension of our world, no matter if we lose ourselves there for a while. ""By virtue of the time I have spent with them, these distinctive poems will stay with me as companions in life, as I hope some of them may do in yours. I am glad to have helped guide them, singing, into the English-speaking world."" - Elizabeth Wade Editor

Autorenporträt
Miranda Xhilaga is a physician (Tirana University), a scientist (PhD, Monash University) and an Adjunct Associate Professor (Deakin University), living in Melbourne, Australia, since 1995. She is the author of Kjo Dhimbje Është Imja (This Pain Is Mine), a collection of original poems published in Albanian (Albas Publishing, 2019). Translation of poetry from English to Albanian and vice versa is her passion. Bantam marks her debut as a translator of Albanian poetry into English. Miranda believes that translation, as an art between tongues, has the capacity to raise awareness about another culture, its people and their perception of life and beauty.
