Banyan Is a Very Special Coyote' is based on the real-life adventures of a wild coyote that started on a Texas feedlot and ended at the Austin Zoo. Making many friends along the way, Banyan shows us that the myths surrounding many animals are not always true when it comes to the individual heart. Banyan socialized with stray cats, raccoons, foxes, skunks, and a flock of grackles at the feedlot. After being rescued, she spent her days surrounded by chickens and other small livestock. Banyan never showed aggression toward any animal or human. Along the way she found the love of humans and the joy of a place to call home. With delightful hand-painted illustrations and scientific facts on each page, 'Banyan Is a Very Special Coyote" goes beyond entertaining, showing people everywhere that the heart of an animal matters. The 'Very Special Series' of children's books are stories told in the animal's own words, where the real-life adventures give a unique view inside a world we previously just imagined. Hand-painted illustrations and 'FYI: Scientific Facts' add a depth of learning and enjoyment for children and adults.
