The present book entitled "BAPSI SIDHWA" aims at analyzing the novels of Bapsi Sidhwa from the perspective of 'minority voices do exhibit potentiality worth a serious consideration'. The appearance of Sidhwa's work signals, even before Rushdie's, the belated coming of age of South Asian fiction in English. Bapsi Sidhwa whose own bold declaration of her multiple identity as "Punjabi - Parsi - Indian - Pakistani-American" is certainly one of the finest Anglophone novelists of South Asia whose work paved the way for the blend of magic and fantasy with history that was to become the trademark of the sub-continental fiction in the eighties and nineties of the last century. The proposed book seeks to examine the (Parsi minority) fiction as valuable mode to access the complex nature of relationship between Parsi minorities and other communities.Bapsi Sidhwa has beautifully and successfully brought to the surface the problems of minority and their collective conscience in combating with the challenges of life. Bapsi Sidhwa, the avant-garde voice of Parsi minority discusses racial, regional, national, international and cultural issues concerning minority communities.
