Poet, writer, journalist, editor, and runner, Roger G McDonald, was born and educated in Melbourne, Australia. He has lived and worked in New Zealand, the United Kingdom, France, and Africa.His poetry first appeared in England in the 1970s. Since his return to Australia in the 1980s, many of Australia's leading newspapers, magazines, and literary journals have published his work. They include The Age, The Australian, The Bulletin, Hobo, Island, Overland, Quadrant, Southerly, and Voices.He is the author of multiple self-published and yet-to-be published collections of verse. Among them is a soon-to-be-completed collection devoted to the broader subject of running. He has also published extensively through social media. His online poetry wins regular praise from other writers and social commentators.Roger lives and works as a writer in Melbourne with his wife, Sandy, who is an author, TEDx speaker, artist, and story-telling teacher. Sandy designed and typeset both Barcode Tattoo and his previous book, The Covid Chronicles, published in March 2021.They have two daughters and three grandchildren.
