Qualitative research methods were used. These included:In-depth interview of cataract patients (those who refused operation) and individuals with cataract (previously undiagnosed villagers with cataract). Focus group discussion with Village Eye Care Workers, elderly male and female villagers without cataract, key informants and family members. A researcher s diary.
