Even the most ardent baseball fan will be amazed at the quirks, quips, and comments in Baseball Gold: Mining Nuggets from Our National Pastime. Consisting entirely of nuggets, bits, and pieces of baseball's offbeat history, this volume covers Teams Terrific, Times Terrific, Tom Terrific, and a myriad of players, owners, managers, and broadcasters--from their exploits on the field to those behind clubhouse doors. It can even be picked up in the middle and read backward--one nugget at a time. Comments from Hall of Fame third baseman Brooks Robinson open the book, in a stirring foreword, as well as each of the 13 chapters--including one authored by veteran broadcaster Milo Hamilton, a member of the broadcast wing at Cooperstown.
