Electrocardiography (ECG) is one of the diagnostic methods for heart disease. It can be obtained easily, rapidly, and inexpensively, and with little to no risk to the patient ECG principles is needed for proper interpretation. Most veterinarians have some experience in ECG interpretation, but many still feel uncertain about their ability in this respect. ECG textbooks are often lengthy, detailed, and not intended for immediate clinical application. This book is designed with the general practitioner in mind, and presented as a concise and practical overview of the subject. Included are several flow charts that will help users to diagnose arrhythmias with more confidence. These sections cover determination of heart rate, measurement of intervals, derivation of the mean electrical axis, criteria for atrial and ventricular enlargement or hypertrophy, intraventricular conduction disturbances, and both normal and abnormal cardiac rhythms. Finally, to you the reader, it is my hope that you find this book easy to use and truly helpful in your study and practice.
