One more important factor for which I choose this project is that after the 2004 Tsunami a huge amount of geomorphic change. There are indications that coastal erosion has accelerated in recent years along coast of Maharashtra. Coastal erosion is partly a natural phenomenon and partly man made. The situation is worst at river mouths and beaches adjacent to shore parallel rivers along Konkan Coast. This project with a view to make a thorough study of the changes occurred in coastal area of Maharashtra (Karli Creek) due to various socio-economic or geo-physical phenomenons. It is seen from various other studies that Arabian Sea is slowly eating some of the age old and beautiful seashores in Sindhudurga District of Maharashtra. The encroachment by the sea is although not a new thing here, recent field visits show that the encroachment and erosion by sea have accelerated after December 2004 tsunami. Therefore in this project I tried to make a 3D model for the visualization of the changes occur in the depth of the Karli Creek over the year and to identify how much geomorphic features vanished from the study area or formed due to frequent erosion and sedimentation activities taken place
