Rosaleen thought she'd have a perfect life, but she married a monster. She longs for a family and a picturesque white-picket-fence life, but no child deserves a battered mother or the sickly-sweet lies after a beating. When Todd, her abusive husband, finds out that she's secretly taking birth control, Rosaleen finally realizes she must escape to survive. Leaving won't come easy. Everywhere she goes, Todd follows. If he can't have her, no one will. Is Rosaleen willing to do whatever it takes to escape Todd and take back her freedom?

Growing up in a small town in Louisiana, writing has always been a passion for Christina. Since elementary age she has been writing poetry. However, she realized she had something valuable to share with the world and decided to write her first novel "Battered Roses."She's inspired by her favorite Author Lurlene Mcdaniel and hopes her stories will make a difference in someone else's life like the stories she has read. When not writing words at her favorite coffee shop, she's chasing children, parrots, ducks, turkeys, geese, and an occasional dog or two.Maybe it's because she's always chasing after something, her characters are always feeling like they have to run for their lives.
