Jess Johnson lives in Central Florida and is a retired law enforcement officer. He has spent 35 years serving his community as a police officer and elementary school security manager. He has spent numerous vacations with his family and friends on the water in the Florida Keys. He was inspired to write "Beacon the Magical Dolphin" and "Beacon Helps Santa" by his love of all marine life, the Christmas holiday season, and the smiling faces of the students at the Park Maitland School.Maggie Flavhan is an Orlando based artist, who has been actively involved in the local art community for years. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design and was awarded a Master of Fine Arts degree in Illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design. She is a published illustrator and local mural artist, specializing in residential and commercial work in pediatric medical and dental centers. Maggie is the chair of the Art Department at Park Maitland School, in Maitland, Florida, where she has been teaching art since 2001. She is passionate about inspiring the hearts of many young artists, as well as creating her own.
