Beating OCD and Anxiety is a new kind of self-help book. It outlines 75 practical strategies that enabled Helena to recover from lifelong OCD and anxiety, but she shares her methods in a unique way. More than 100 original cartoons are included in this short, easy-to-read guide. So, rather than being text-heavy and explanatory, this book is an easy-reference toolkit for anyone aged 12 and upwards. It is conveniently segmented with tips and summary points, which will help in the here and now. The cartoons help to demonstrate the difficulties and add a touch of much-needed humour. Beating OCD and Anxiety has already been endorsed by an ever-growing number of professionals and acclaimed as a lifesaver by fellow sufferers, and is recommended by clinics and mental health charities. And Helena knows what you are going through, whether you are a sufferer or a supporter, which makes it a comfort as much as it is a source of knowledge.

Autorenporträt
Helena was an art consultant before working in part-time business roles while bringing up her son. She has degrees in History of Art/English, and Graphic Design. She has practised CBT techniques for thirty years as a patient, initially attending a 1:1 course in Isaac Marks' department at the Institute of Psychiatry. She has since updated her techniques via three local courses. She manages GAD and OCD herself, very successfully. Her cartoons have appeared in workshops for the NHS and the Business Psychology Company, and in company magazines. They appear regularly in the weekly bellringing magazine, The Ringing World. Most recently, she has finished illustrating a children's book Nicolas and the Six Bells by David Ackerman, published by Gabriel Books.
