Benzodiazepines were introduced in the 1950s, and marketed as a non-addictive drug for psychic tension. Time has proven otherwise and these drugs are now known to be responsible for one of the worst medical blunders in history. Many people who take benzodiazepines, (usually prescribed for sleep or anxiety) are unaware they've developed a dependence and may attribute their withdrawal symptoms to something else entirely. This booklet provides an easy to follow, 3-step guide to help you taper off benzodiazepines with minimal stress and disruption to your daily life. It will help you to identify whether dependence is present - how to split your daily dose to minimise withdrawal symptoms during the day - how to change over to a long acting benzodiazepine (Valium) - then how taper off slowly to minimise withdrawal symptoms. It is aimed at both individuals wanting to detox and health practitioners. Dale Carruth B.A., CAC, is a qualified addiction and detox counsellor, educator and Psychedelic healing coach. This book is the result of years of clinical practice and observation while working for Tranx Services, NZ (a Benzo detox service.)
