Autorenporträt
Lorraine Nordmann has worked in beauty therapy education for over 40 years as a practitioner, educator and assessor, in quality assurance roles at various colleges for an awarding organisation, Curriculum Leader and Head of Department. She has been involved in developing several awarding organisations' curricula up to Foundation degree level, creating rigorous assessment materials aligned to the curriculum level of study, related National Occupational Standards (NOS) and current industry commercial protocols, following the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion. In more recent years Lorraine has brought her experience of the education sector and resource development, including remote learning digital resources, to her work with HABIA (the Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy Skills Sector Body) as an assessor for its activities. These are aimed at training providers and those delivering continuing professional development courses. Lorraine is President of the Association of

Hairdressers and Therapists (AHT) providing professional updates for education members in collaboration with industry, through webinars and in-person activities. Student competitions are an important part of her work and Lorraine has had the opportunity to develop these, ensuring they comply with industry best practice and challenge learners to reach their potential.
