Autorenporträt
Charlene is married with four children and 6 grandchildren. Many things contributed to her writing this children's book. The main one is her love of being a grandma and playing games with her grandchildren. Her passion towards the value and importance of the early years and children learning through play also contributed to wanting to share her story. This passion comes from many years of experience ranging from being parent/grandparent to completing education/training and working in the early childhood field. Her education included Early Childhood & Care diploma, Child & Youth Care degree and Masters of Education in Special Education. Her work experience included informal child care and a licensed family childcare program in her home, being a child care consultant offering support and training for child care providers and parents, supporting children and their families in drop in program and teaching at Vancouver Island University in the Early Childhood and Care program.Charlene loved the fun of watching Beckett's excitement to play the "egg game" together and the learning about counting, colors, social skills and more that were happening at the same time - "learning through play". This motivated her to share the game as a story by writing Beckett's Favourite Game for others to read and have the same amazing experience
